2. News from the DataVaults project

The H2020 DataVaults project (GA 871755) aims to build a technological ecosystem to allow individuals to take ownership and control of their personal data and share them at will with other entities (companies, public administrations, associations, etc.), through flexible data sharing and fair compensation schemes, to address concerns that pertain privacy, ethics and intellectual property rights.
The project has just passed a very successful mid-term review and the consortium is now speeding up the release of the alpha version of the platform and web app, for the first testing operations by the five demonstrators that will then have the opportunity to check the provided functionalities according to their planned scenarios and provide feedbacks. This test phase will pave the way to the release of the beta version, scheduled for the beginning of the next year.
The demonstrators involved in the project are the Municipality of Piraeus (Greece), the Municipality of Prato (Italy), Olympiacos CFP (Greece), Andaman7 (Belgium) and MIWEnergia (Spain).

The aim of the conference programme was to present a variety of study cases and thought leadership speeches from local governments, public and research organisations and to provoke discussions about key hot topics:
  • Are digital, green, sustainable transformations, and cybersecurity a priority for our city organisation?
  • Do our cities have access to the skills needed to implement those major changes?
  • Do we believe that our style of leadership should evolve?
  • Is Covid going to oblige the reimagining of work and workplaces?
Information about the 2022 programme and logistics will come soon.
